Bail hearing set for woman charged with murder in Picton Avenue homicide

THUNDER BAY - A Thunder Bay woman facing a charge of second-degree murder in connection to a March 3 incident that left one woman dead and another seriously injured is scheduled to have a bail hearing on Thursday.

Brianna Lynn Netemegesic, 20, was charged with aggravated assault and second-degree murder in connection to a homicide on Picton Avenue in early March.

Netemegesic is expected to appear in court on Thursday, Aug. 20, for a bail hearing in the Superior Court of Justice, according to court documents.

The accused was arrested after police responded to the 100-block of Picton Avenue just after midnight on March 3 for an assault in progress. When officers arrived on scene, they found two female victims. Both victims were transported to hospital where one of the females died as a result of her injuries.

A day later, police identified a teenaged boy as a second suspect in connection to the incident and charged him with one count second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault. 

The boy’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
