Benjamin Ronald Marki appears in court to face double murder charges

A 40-year-old man arrested in connection with an alleged December double homicide has been identified. Benjamin Ronald Marki appeared Saturday in court in Thunder Bay.

A 40-year-old man arrested in connection with an alleged December double homicide has been identified.

Benjamin Ronald Marki appeared Saturday in court in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay Police alleges the incident that claimed the lives of 60-year-old Wilfred Pott and 50-year-old Anne Chuchmuch was a double homicide.Marki, who remains in custody, is charged with two counts of second degree murder, arson endangering life and one count of committing an indignity to a dead body. 

Marki is believed to have been staying with the victims at the time of their deaths.

Police spokesman Chris Adams has committed to updating media on the case on Jan. 18.
