Bidding for new courthouse ends

The bidding is now closed for the design and construction contract for Thunder Bay's new consolidated courthouse near Victoriaville.

No details are being released at this time regarding the bidders or the potential price tag for the massive project. The province will spend several months evaluating the proposals, with the contract to be announced in the fall or winter.

A start date for construction will be determined after that.

The new facility will have 15 courtrooms and will replace the city's two existing courthouses.
