Blown stop sign sends one to hospital

Police charged a 90-year-old woman following a two-vehicle collision early Monday afternoon. The crash took place at the corner of Rockwood Avenue and Van Norman Street. The collision involved a car and an SUV.

The crash took place at the corner of Rockwood Avenue and Van Norman Street. The collision involved a car and an SUV.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged, and the car ended up in a resident's front yard. Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded.

The 61-year-old male driver of the SUV was not hurt, but the 90-year-old driver of the car was transported to hospital with what police call minor injuries.

The woman has since been charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
