Body of missing boater recovered from Lake of the Woods

KENORA, Ont. -- Provincial police have recovered the body of a missing boater from Lake of the Woods on Friday.

Officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP were notified around 2 p.m. on Aug. 15 that a male adult was missing on Lake of the Woods. The man fell into the lake and did not resurface.

The OPP underwater search and recovery unit attended Shore Island on Aug. 17 and located the body of the deceased around 6 p.m.

The man has been identified as 71-year-old Larry Booth from Iowa.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled for August 20, 2018.
