Thunder Bay Police Service Media Release
The Thunder Bay Police are continuing to conduct a sudden death investigation after a deceased 20 year old male was located on McKellar Street just after 8:00 a.m. on September 8, 2016.
The next of kin have been notified.
McKellar Street between Cameron Street and Dease Street have been reopened to the public.
A residence in the 300 block of McKellar Street is being held as part of the investigation.
Police have been canvassing the area and collecting evidence pending the results of the postmortem examination to determine the cause of death and the direction of the investigation.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the results.
Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of North McKellar Street on the evening of September 7, 2016 is asked to contact the police at 684-1200.

UPDATE: Just after 4:30 p.m. officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service confirmed that the postmortem would take place in Thunder Bay.
No further information is expected until that examination is complete.
Police expect to have more information Friday, however, no specific time could be provided.
