Bomb threat evacuates grocery store

THUNDER BAY – The Safeway location on Dawson Road was briefly evacuated Monday evening after a bomb threat was called in to the store.

The County Fair area grocery store received the call around 7 p.m. with a call subsequently placed to police, a Thunder Bay Police Service spokesman said.

The store was evacuated as a precaution as the building was searched.

The threat was cleared and the store was reopened later in the evening.

Police continue to investigate.
