Be patient and you will get home.
That's the message Roach's Taxi is sending out for this New Year's Eve. Most party-goers call a cab between 1:30 and 3:30 a.m. General manager Dennis Lebeau said drivers will make sure everyone gets a ride but it's the busiest time of the year for them and getting a taxi will take time.
"There will be a bit of a bottleneck there," he said. "Every vehicle we own will be on the road tonight... the cabs will just keep running and running and running."
"Just try to be patient and everybody will get home."
Leaving the party a little earlier can go a long way to try and get a cab but Lebeau said most people want to stay until the end of the night. In that case, try and share the cab with others he said.
New service Driverseat, which will pick you and your vehicle up and take you home for a fee, is expecting to give more than 100 rides by the end of the night. Owner Lawrence Deswiage said people can call to pre-book a ride from one of four teams although times are filling up fast.
"So they know when they're getting home," he said. "That way they're guaranteed a ride and they don't have to wait hours."
The service will also have another team to respond to calls as they come in. Not usually a 24-hour service, Dewsiage said Driverseat will run until the last call comes in for New Year's Eve.
