The city’s oldest amateur theatre group is back with a new production.

Cambrian Players is tackling the exploits of Sherlock Holmes. The play, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, follows the famous detective and his trusty sidekick, Watson, as they try to retrieve the crown jewels and find out who is behind the theft.

Actor Chris Jason says taking on the role of Holmes has been a lifelong dream.

Director Gabe Ferrazzo says audience members can expect colourful characters and exciting plot twists.

He adds that bringing the iconic Sherlock Holmes to the stage has been fun, but admits it has also been a difficult process.

The show begins Thursday night at 8 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre and runs until Saturday, with four more shows next week.
