THUNDER BAY – Cars and Hydro poles have not been able to keep their space lately on Chippewa Road.

THUNDER BAY – Cars and Hydro poles have not been able to keep their space lately on Chippewa Road.

For the second straight week a vehicle collided with a pole on the connecting road between Highway 61 and the Fort William First Nation, disrupting both traffic and power to people in the nearby areas.

The single-vehicle collision occurred during the afternoon. There were no injuries as a result of the crash.

Thunder Bay Police officials have limited traffic to one lane at the crash site, which is just around the corner from the four-way stop.

They are advising people avoid the area to allow Hydro crews to work. Repairs are expected to be conducted well into the evening.

Last week a teenage joyride went awry when a 14-year-old driver crashed a car into a pole during the overnight hours.
