THUNDER BAY — For the fifth term in a row, Carol Hughes will represent the sprawling riding of Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing in the House of Commons.

The NDP candidate easily recaptured the riding that includes White River, and stretches from Cochrane in the north to Manitoulin Island in the south.

With 95 per cent of polls reporting by early Tuesday morning, Hughes had won just over 39 per cent of the vote, compared with 29 per cent for runner-up John Sagman representing the Conservative party.

NOTE:  A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Manitouwadge is located in this riding, whereas it is actually part of Thunder Bay-Superior North
