The Province announced more than $15 million in funding for 200 festivals, but nothing is coming to Thunder Bay.
The reason for that is the city didn't apply for it.
The "Celebrate Ontario" fund was announced this week. Only two events receiving grants in the region are in Terrace Bay and Nestor Falls.
Thunder Bay's community services manager says the program is not a good fit. He adds the city has started tracking postal codes of attendees at all of city events, which may help access the "Celebrate Ontario" funding in the future.
