BEARDMORE, Ont. -- CFNO Radio can now be heard in Beardmore.
The Dougall Media-owned station, based in Marathon, has added a transmitter in the Northern Ontario community, after numerous requests from both listeners and municipal officials.
“We gave serious consideration to their request and filed an application with the CRTC to allow us to add a transmitter in Beardmore,” said Dougall Media general manager Don Caron.
“Our engineering department has been working on the project for a number of months now and after a number of technical issues were solved, we were able to activate the CFNO FM signal at 9 a.m. (Wednesday).”
Community officials said without the signal they had limited means to disperse public notices about accidents, weather and highway closures.
“We welcome all to CFNO FM,” Caron said.
