THUNDER BAY — Police announced Tuesday afternoon they have arrested a woman in connection with an incident overnight at a Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration housing complex in Westfort.
Officers were dispatched to Spence Court on Amelia Street West at 11:40 pm Monday after receiving information that individuals present at that location were in possession of a weapon.
Once they determined that multiple suspects had entered a residential unit, police contained the area and attempted to communicate with the people involved.
They failed to comply with demands to exit and surrender, at which point the Emergency Task Unit was deployed.
Six hours later, at 6:15 am Tuesday, the incident was concluded without injury, and a number of individuals were taken into custody.
But only one person has been charged.
A 34-year-old woman is alleged to have been in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
She appeared in court and was released with a future appearance date.
