Charges laid in Highway 11/17 collision

A Thunder Bay man is charged with driving while suspended, and careless driving.

THUNDER BAY — OPP have laid charges against one of the drivers involved in a serious collision last week on Highway 11/17 in Shuniah.

 A pickup truck collided with a compact car at the intersection with McKenzie Heights Road, causing the car to overturn and leaving both vehicles heavily damaged.

Police said one passenger in the car and both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

OPP have charged the driver of the pickup, a 52-year-old man from Thunder Bay, with careless driving and driving while under suspension.

The other driver was a resident of Dorion.
