Charges laid in numerous arsons, break and enters in Armstrong and Gull Bay

ARMSTRONG, Ont. -- Five people are facing criminal charges after a lengthy investigations into a number of arsons and break and enter incidents in Armstrong and Gull Bay First Nation.

The Armstrong detachment of the OPP, along with the provincial police's North West Region crime unit and forensic identification unit, investigated numerous incidents that occurred from November 2016 to this past July.

A 22-year-old from Gull Bay First Nation is charged with four counts of arson, five counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offence, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

A 19-year-old from Gull Bay First Nation is charged with three counts of arson and three counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offence.

An 18-year-old from Gull Bay First Nation is charged with arson, break and enter to commit an indictable offence, break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and mischief under $5,000.

Two youth from Gull Bay First Nation are charged with multiple counts of break and enter, arson and mischief.
