Provincial police are not expected to lay charges in connection with a collision on Highway 61 Thursday.

The incident took place just before noon when  a driver lost control near Riverdale Road and struck a pedestrian who was snow blowing his driveway. 

The 71-year-old victim was taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries and reports indicate he has since been transferred to Toronto.  

The incident resulted in a brief closure of Highway 61.
