Chilly temperatures could cancel school-bus service

Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay won't run buses if the windchill dips below -40 C.
School Bus Snow 2

THUNDER BAY – Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay will make the call in the morning whether or not buses will run on Monday.

On Sunday the STSTB announced they’ll decide by 6:30 a.m. and it will depend on the temperature. If the windchill is -40 C or lower, bus service will be cancelled as will all rural schools except Five Mile Public School and Nor’Wester View.

All Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board schools will remain open, as will the board office.  It will be up to parents to get students to schools that are open, or arrange child-care should some schools not open.

Environment Canada is forecasting a morning temperature of -31 C at 6 a.m., with a windchill of -40.
