THUNDER BAY -- About 5,500 people in this city will be given a holiday boost this year from the Christmas Cheer Fund.
The charity began handing out hampers Tuesday to southside residents. Each hamper includes about a week’s worth of groceries for a family. About 3,100 children will receive a toy thanks to the campaign.
Northside residents can pick up their hampers Wednesday.
Christmas Cheer Fund officials say even though hampers will be picked up this week, everyone is welcome to make a monetary donation at the CLE.
