THUNDER BAY - It’s the end of the line for students at Churchill Collegiate as a new school year gets underway this week for the Lakehead Public Board.
Superintendent Sherri-Lynn Pharand said it has been looking at ways to celebrate the final school year before they amalgamate next fall with Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute.
“We do have a transition committee made up of parents, students and staff from both Westgate and Churchill,” Pharand said.
“They have been, since last spring, planning activities to make the last year at Churchill special, but also to really work together to build a community between the two schools.
This fall, Pharand said renovations at Kingsway Park Public School will be completed, so it can accept incoming students from Hyde Park.
