THUNDER BAY — The City of Thunder Bay's animal services department is going to court to seek the destruction of a pit bull/shar-pei that attacked and killed another dog last month.
The incident occurred on Blucher Avenue on Sept. 16, as the owner of a pekingese/pomeranian was taking her for a walk in the neighbourhood.
A spokesperson for the animal services department says the application to have the pit bull euthanized is based on the seriousness of the incident.
A court hearing is scheduled for next month.
The dog's owner has already been fined $195 for allowing it to run at large.
