Traffic on one of Thunder Bay's busiest street was reduced to just two lanes this afternoon.

A water main break on Arthur Street near Ford Street Friday left the road and sidewalk covered in water, and city workers scrambling to clear the drainage systems.

Businesses and homes in the area have been without water since early Friday afternoon. City officials say the watermain is old and they're still working on finding where exactly the leak was coming from.

Concerns were also raised by city workers as motorists continued to speed by at an estimated 60 to 70 km/h.

There's no word on how long it will take to repair the problem.
