Employees with the City of Thunder Bay began their 20th annual United Way campaign with a Kick-Off Luncheon Thursday.

Once again this year, employees from the city, Superior North EMS and the Thunder Bay Public Library are participating.

The employees raise money through payroll deductions, dress down days as well as events like a Spaghetti Dinner and Auction and the luncheon held Thursday.

The chair of the Municipal Division Campaign, Carol Pollard, says they hope to reach a goal of $191,100 for the United Way.

Pollard adds that there are about 1,000 municipal employees who donate through payroll deduction.
