The City of Thunder Bay will soon have a new man in charge of major construction projects.
Michael Smith, who has spent the past 10 years with the City of Waterloo, will also oversee the operation of corporate facilities, fleet services, construction and renovation projects when he takes over the role on Sept. 6.
Smith is at present the director of asset management with the City of Waterloo, having previously held the positions of director of facility services and manager of the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.
“We are pleased to have Mr. Smith join the corporation,” city manager Tim Commisso said in a release issued by the city on Tuesday morning. “We are very impressed with the breadth of experience and he will be an asset to our senior leadership team.”
