The city experienced a jump in new home starts last month.
According to the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation, there were 15 single detached home starts in April, which is more than double the seven that were recorded in April of last year.
In addition to the single-detached starts, a five-unit row house development has also begun.
But officials with the CMHC warn that an early start to the construction year may result in a slowdown in activity later this summer.
