City police arrest break and enter suspect

Police have laid charges against one man in connection to a break and enter.

THUNDER BAY – A 34-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing numerous charges in connection with a break and enter at a northside business early Monday morning.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a business just before 1 a.m. in the zero-to-100 block of Court Street North in response to a security alarm.

When officers arrived they found the accused male still inside the business.

Police say when the man noticed the officers he fled southbound, but was apprehended after a short pursuit.

Upon further investigation, officers learned the accused had stolen various items from the business and also caused some damage to the property.

Police have charged a 34-year-old Thunder Bay man with breaking, entering and committing; mischief under $5,000; failing to comply with condition undertaking; probation order non-compliance.

He is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.

The accused cannot be named prior to these charges being sworn to.
