City police officers are investigating the circumstances that led up to a water rescue just before noon on Friday.
Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue along with Thunder Bay Police Service officers were called to riverfront near the Thunder Bay Rowing Club regarding a man who was in distress in the water.
The man was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre by Superior North EMS.
He is presently in the ICU.
