THUNDER BAY -- Sunny skies and warm temperatures made it a great day to be outside.

“The weather we’ve had today has been absolutely wonderful. It’s been a great relief after the cold snap we’ve just been through,” said Adam Young.

He also noted the lack of rain was especially favourable as he was out on Bay Street Tuesday afternoon in front of Calico Coffeehouse with the Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay celebrating International Bagpipe Day.

“We’ve been visiting local businesses around town,” said Young, adding he couldn’t say enough about the weather, which Environment Canada had at 11 C at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

“It’s been great. We’ve seen lots of people out in the community,” Young said.

At Prince Arthur’s Landing Gloria DiGiuseppe was enjoying the skating rink with her three-year-old grandson Hunter.

“We’re at the marina enjoying a beautiful day down here. It’s plus 6 C and hallelujah!” she aid.

Sandy Saraka was also down at the park with her granddaughter enjoying the sun and warm temperatures.

“It could have come sooner, but this is perfect. We love the spring,” she said.
