THUNDER BAY --  Summer festivals wouldn't be the same without local talent on the stage.

Special events staff is looking to fill the city's stages over the summer with musicians, dance groups, children's entertainers and other performance acts to give local cultural flavour to the summer of 2016.

There are 14 opportunities to perform, including four stages over Canada Day and the popular Summer In The Parks series on Wednesday evenings at the Waterfront, which run between July 6 and Aug. 24.

For youth entertainers, the July 12 Teedy Bears Picnic is expecting a turnout of 4,000 people.

City Hall Sounds is also looking for talent. The Thursday lunch hour performances run between Aug. 4 and Aug. 24.

The deadline for Call for Talent Applications is Friday, April 22 at 4 p.m.
