THUNDER BAY -- City council has assembled a task force that will take a close look at municipal day-care services.
At Monday evening’s council meeting, Thunder Bay City Councillors approved the creation of the task force. The task force will feature two at-large councillors who will look into finding efficiencies within the city-run day-care programs.
Coun. Rebecca Johnson and Coun. Frank Pulia were chosen to the task force.
Some of the challenges the municipal service faces include reduced enrollment, largely as a result of Ontario’s full-day Kindergarten programs.
An increase in licence space available in the city and funding changes also represent challenges to the municipal service.
