City wants to ban bottled water at municipal events by next year

THUNDER BAY -- The city is looking to be blue by next year.

THUNDER BAY -- The city is looking to be blue by next year.

On Monday city council unanimously decided to work toward banning the sale of bottled water at municipal events, private events on city property and major events like Canada Day would be exempt, by next year. It's part of a plan to become a Blue Community, one of around a dozen in Canada.

"This is a small step forward," Coun. Andrew Foulds said.
