City's Doors Open tour set for Sept. 8

History buffs could be out in full force on Sept. 8. The City of thunder Bay Archives, in conjunction with the Heritage Advisory Committee, is hosting another Doors Open event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

History buffs could be out in full force on Sept. 8.

The City of thunder Bay Archives, in conjunction with the Heritage Advisory Committee, is hosting another Doors Open event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., inviting the public to tour 13 historically and architecturally significant sites.

The self-guided, free admission tours will present the opportunity to look at photos and exhibits, and learn the history of several of the city’s intriguing buildings.

Sites on the list include Hillcrest High School, the Finnish Labor Temple, the James Whalen Tug, the Brodie Resource Library, the Paterson Building, St. John’s Anglican Church, Port Arthur Collegiate Institute and the Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel and Suites.
