THUNDER BAY – It’s that time of year again.

The Port of Thunder Bay is getting ready to officially open the navigation season this week.

According to information provided by the port, the bulk cargo carrier Tecumseh is just south of Sault Ste, Marie.
The ship is expected to arrive in this city sometime Tuesday evening or night.

That would mean the official top-hat ceremony to open lake navigation here would be held on Wednesday.

Last year, the 1st ship opening navigation arrived April 24.
