THUNDER BAY – New stats show that this city’s unemployment rate is trending down.
New numbers released by Statistics Canada show that this area’s rate of unemployment fell to 4.8 per cent in February.
That represents a drop from the 5.3 per cent that was recorded by the government statistics agency in January.
The 4.8 per cent is among the lowest for major cities in Ontario.
Ontario’s unemployment rate sat at 6.9 per cent for February, which is relatively unchanged from the numbers reported the month before.
