THUNDER BAY – The unemployment rate for this area rose in March, according to new data.
New numbers released by Statistics Canada shows the Thunder Bay area saw its jobless numbers rise to 7.6 per cent in March from 7.1 per cent in February.
The rise means that this area now features the third highest unemployment rate among Ontario urban centres.
The provincial unemployment rate for Ontario was 6.8 per cent in March.
Nationally, the unemployment rate saw a bit of drop to 7.1 per cent in March compared to 7.3 per cent in February.
