THUNDER BAY – The city’s jobless rate rose in February.
According to new Statistics Canada numbers, the unemployment rate for this area hit 7.1 per cent in February, which is an increase from the 6.5 per cent recorded in January.
That puts the city’s jobless rate above the provincial average, which was up to 6.8 per cent in February compared to 6.7 the month before.
Nationally, the unemployment rate rose to 7.3 per cent from 7.2
