THUNDER BAY -- The latest in technology to aid those with vision loss was on display Thursday at the Thunder Bay's Canadian National Institute for the Blind offices.
The organization holds open hours regularly to help keep the public aware of the different innovations that help make living with eye diseases easier.
These technologies include audible clocks, text to speech applications, and magnification devices for printed materials.
CNIB vision rehabilitation assistant Lisa Rozenbergs said the organization is also responsible for bringing these technologies to a wide range of people throughout Northern Ontario.
“We serve a very large area,” Rozenbers said. “We are from the White River border all the way to Kenora and up to First Nations areas in Fort Hope and some of that area…about an area the size of France.”
CNIB is open every Tuesday and Thursday for those interested in purchasing these technologies.
