THUNDER BAY – Three people have been charged following a drug bust in this city.
Thunder Bay Police Service officials say a search warrant was executed at a Sequoia Drive home just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
As a result of that search police officers found 160 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of crack cocaine and seven grams of marijuana. The
estimated street value of the drugs seized is believed to be near $21,000.
Police officers also seized nearly $8,750 in cash during the raid.
Four people, two men and two women, were in the home at the time of the search.
Police say a 37-year old woman was charged with possession of marijuana, while a 39-year-old woman was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Both women were released and have future court dates.
Meanwhile, Swayze Coore, 28, of Mississauga, Ont., was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Street Police Station where he was charged with the following:
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
• Breach or Probation
The suspect appeared in court Thursday and was remanded to the district jail.
