ATIKOKAN, Ont. – A late afternoon collision has resulted in impaired driving charges for a 63-year-old man.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, police responded to a collision on June 20 at 4:04 p.m. on Bergman Road.
Officers conducted an investigation and suspected one of the drivers to be under the influence of alcohol.
The driver failed an approved screening device breath sample and was placed under arrest and returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 63-year-old of Niobe Lake has been charged with operation while impaired-alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was released and scheduled to appear in court Aug. 12 to answer to his charges.
