Collision leads to stolen vehicle, impaired charges for Thunder Bay man

THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay man is facing charges following a single motor vehicle rollover collision on Highway 11/17 on Wednesday morning.

Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police responded to the incident on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at approximately 2 a.m. in the Township of Dorion, according to a news release.

An investigation determined the driver to be impaired and the vehicle to have been stolen from Thunder Bay. During the arrest, the man allegedly assaulted the arresting officer.

The driver was subsequently taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Vincent Stolz, 22, is charged with one count of assaulting police, resisting arrest, operation while impaired by drug and alcohol, and possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused was remanded into custody.
