A recent safety blitz by Thunder Bay police showed most commercial vehicles in the city are compliant.

Police stopped 24 drivers on Aug. 22 and 23 and only four were taken off the road for mechanical reasons.

A single vehicle had its plates removed, deemed unfit to drive, while a dozen provincial offences tickets were issued for a variety of mechanical and document violations.

One caution ticket was also issued.

Police say they intend to continue the random inspections throughout the fall.
