The Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club has been met with generosity from the community following a weekend robbery.

A flat screen television set was recently taken from the building on Windsor Street, while another television was smashed.

Program Director Lee-ann Skirving says donations of televisions, gaming systems, and money started coming in almost immediately after details about the robbery and vandalism were made public.

“It’s really changed our mind frame,” she said. “Yes, we do want to catch these people and we want them to be held accountable, but the overwhelming support from the community has just been amazing.

The investigation by Thunder Bay Police is ongoing. Investigating officers are working with video surveillance of the robbery.
