THUNDER BAY — City and area residents receive an opportunity this weekend to test their acting skills, whether experienced or not..

The Film Production program at Confederation College is holding an open casting call on Sept. 15 and 16.

"The program creates overt 200 short films a year, and there is nothing more exciting than to see the results on the big screen and on TV," said instructor Lee Chambers.

"You could be a lead actor or an extra in a film made with top-quality Hollywood equipment," Chambers said.

Getting added to the casting books is a straightforward process.

Community members need only show up at the casting event, fill out a contact form, and have a photo taken.

The casting books will then be provided to film students who will contact actors they are interested in when it's time for production.

Brittany Moratz participated in last year's casting call.

"I had an amazing time and met incredible people with inspiring visions. I can't wait to do it again," a college news release quoted Moratz as saying.

The event takes place both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3:00 p.m. in the Shuniah Building lobby at Confederation College.

Individuals unable to attend may submit their details online at www.conflix.com.
