A conciliator has been called in as negotiations between public health nurses and the district’s health unit continues.
The current agreement between the nurses and the Thunder Bay and District Health Unit expired more than a year ago.
Ontario Nurses Association vice-president Vicki McKenna says the two sides remain separated on the issue of wages.
McKenna told CKPR Radio that clients will not be affected while negotiations continue on behalf of the 58 unionized nurses.
McKenna added that these 58 nurses are some of the lower paid public health nurses in Ontario.
