NIPIGON, Ont. -- Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Conservation officers made multiple seizures of moose and laid dozens of charges against hunters during a recent enforcement blitz.
The MNRF says the two-week blitz in the Nipigon area resulted in seven moose being confiscated.
Fifty-two charges were laid, including 29 for having a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
Other charges ranged from hunting without a licence to using a prohibited firearm.
Conservation officers are still investigating two cases involving the careless use of a firearm.
The blitz was conducted between Oct.7 and Oct. 22.
The MNRF says members of the public can report hunting and fishing violations to its TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667 toll-free or to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
