THUNDER BAY -- Drivers along Simpson Street will be facing a series of detours for the month of September and October.
Simpson Street between Robertson Street and Pacific Avenue will be closed for sanitary sewer repairs and roadwork.
Traffic has already started backing up along the detour route, which goes through the Ogden Community School zone.
The closure however, comes as a bit of a shock to several business owners along the construction zone, who say they received very little notification about the street closure.
Businesses will remain open during the street closure.
City engineering officials said the work will take seven weeks to complete, and that may vary due to weather.
