Motorist travelling through the Nipigon area can expect some traffic delays throughout the summer as road construction takes over an 11-kilometre stretch of Highway 11/17.
Traffic is down to a single lane in work areas along the highway between the Nipigon River and Highway 585, near Hurkett. The MTO reports the nearly $4-million includes resurfacing and illumination upgrades.
Lane restrictions are required to accommodate work on the road’s shoulder.
The highway improvements in the Nipigon area are scheduled to be complete by the start of October.
