THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay District Social Services Board has approved the construction of two new social housing projects.
An eight-unit apartment complex for single tenants on social assistance will be built on Pearl Street, next to Lendrum Court.
Another eight apartment units will be built on Lincoln Street, next to the Herb Carroll Centre.
The contract for the two projects was awarded Thursday at a cost of $1.6 million.
Construction is set to begin over the new few weeks.
