THUNDER BAY -- City council is expected to give the OK Monday night to about $7.8 million in infrastructure maintenance contracts.

The Taranis Contracting Group is city administration’s choice to complete a $4.8-million paving contract in 2015.

In a report expected to be delivered to city council on Monday, city officials say the company submitted the lowest bid, though noted the final cost would be based on measured quantities for the completed work.

The recommendation does not indicated where the work will be completed.

City council is also expected to rubber-stamp a $1.5-million sidewalk and traffic rehabilitation contract to Thunder Bay’s Bay City Contractors.

The work will include a temporary stop light on Churchill Drive at James Street while the work is completed.

Finally administration is recommending council award a $1.46-million contract to main Rehabilitation Incorporated to complete cleaning of cement mortar linings of cast-iron water mains.
