THUNDER BAY -- Monday's council meeting may give councillors something to chew on as the city gets its first food security report card.
The Thunder Bay and Area Food Strategy was endorsed by the city and surrounding municipalities in 2014. Last year the strategy called for an annual report card to show the state of the city and surrounding area's food security.
"On a number of indicators, from access to food, to the state of urban agriculture, to the strength of the local farming sector," a letter sent to council states.
The report card will be presented by food strategy coordinator Kendal Donahue and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit's Catherine Schwartz-Mendez.
